Thank you to everyone who committed to and help spread the Vigilant Creed. Be proud of your commitment to holding yourselves to a higher standard. The year 2023 marks the 5 year anniversary of the Vigilant Creed. In those short 5 years it has made its way to all 50 states and 7 countries! It has become apparent just how many firefighters wanted to share the same high standards for themselves within the Fire Service.
As of June 1, 2023 the Vigilant Wall will no longer be added to. If your name is on that wall… Take pride in it!
Continue to hold yourself to the Vigilant Creed and everything it stands for!

How the Vigilant Creed even came to be:
I am a big fan of Simon Sinek and his “Start with Why” philosophy on leadership. If you don’t understand the why, then it is easy to lose drive, passion and will. Trying to put into words what I believed was my ‘why’ for the fire service is what caused me to write what would eventually be named the Vigilant Creed. I wrote it, I liked it and most of all I wanted to live it.
The Vigilant Creed is more than just a personal reminder for myself. This is something even bigger than just my personal journey. I wanted to share it! I knew if I felt this way, I wasn’t alone! I wanted others who had the same desire as me, those who wanted to be held to a higher standard in the Fire Service, to be able to be a part of it!
